20-year-old Dequandre Smith, reported missing on March 2, has been identified as the remains found in Newton County on March 15. The body was discovered in a wooded area off Flat Shoals Road in Covington and taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Medical Examiner's Office for identification. The cause of death is yet to be determined, and the investigation remains active.
