Wolfspeed celebrates completion of its $5bn John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide in North Carolina. The 200mm silicon carbide wafer facility will expand the company's capacity to meet demands for next-gen semiconductors in energy transition and AI. The project, with phase one ending by 2024, is expected to grow the state's economy by over $17.5bn and create 1,800 jobs by 2030.
