Tony Evers has signed Senate Bill 829, allowing tactical emergency medical services (TEMS) professionals to carry firearms while acting in the line of duty in prohibited areas such as fish hatcheries, wildlife refuges, and school zones. The Appleton community has been a leader since 2012 in integrating TEMS into community emergency response services, inspiring measures in the new law.
