US seeks to seize luxury NYC apartments bought by ex-Mongolia PM with mining funds. Former Mongolian PM Sukhbaatar Batbold and his family allegedly bought two high-end Manhattan apartments for $14m using money from a corrupt mining contract, according to US prosecutors. The US Department of Justice is now seeking to seize these properties, claiming Batbold abused his position as Prime Minister to profit from Mongolia's natural resources.
