SK Hynix, a key supplier to Nvidia, predicts that high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips, crucial for AI chipsets, will comprise a double-digit percentage of its DRAM chip sales in 2024. The South Korean company began mass production of next-gen advanced HBM chips this month, with initial shipments to Nvidia. Analysts anticipate HBM chip sales will rise to 15% of industry-wide DRAM sales this year, up from 8% in 2023.
