7 new firefighters, aged 21-35, have been sworn in by Mayor Mary Ferdon in Columbus, Indiana. They will replace those who have recently retired or resigned. The new firefighters, from diverse backgrounds, will undergo an orientation and training program including Basic Emergency Medical Technician certification, Firefighter I & II, and Hazardous Materials Operations and Awareness training.
