300,000 Irish residents in 15 counties receive notice of high THM levels, a cancer-linked toxin, in their drinking water.

Ireland's water utility, Uisce Éireann, will inform 300,000 people across 15 counties of high levels of cancer-linked toxins in their drinking water, including trihalomethanes (THMs) detected in 25 water supplies. THMs, which can cause various cancers, have been found in some water supplies above legal limits. Uisce Éireann will send explanatory booklets to affected households to inform them of the water supply's elevated THM levels.
