A fire at an industrial unit in Saffron Walden, Essex, sent thick black smoke billowing over the town. Six fire crews battled the blaze at the two-storey building on Shire Hill, with people living in the area advised to keep their doors and windows closed. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and fire service group manager Dan Partridge said crews would be at the scene into the evening.
