A federal judge will hear arguments on Friday to block part of a 2023 Florida law restricting pronouns and titles educators can use in public schools. Transgender teacher Katie Wood and nonbinary teacher AV Schwandes, plaintiffs in the lawsuit, contend the restrictions violate federal civil-rights law and the First Amendment. They seek a preliminary injunction to prevent the law from being enforced.
