Couple Liat Best and Dean Nevin left dogs to die in abandoned flat, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty in Liverpool court.

Couple Liat Best and Dean Nevin, from Hughes Avenue, Prescot, left their dogs, including a Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossbreed named Lilly and her three puppies, to die in a flat abandoned for two months. Best and Nevin pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal in Liverpool Magistrates' Court. The dogs were found on top of a dirty mattress surrounded by urine and faeces.
