A 50-year-old male police officer from Queensland's Central Region has been charged with child sex offences, including possessing and accessing child exploitation material. The senior sergeant was suspended from the police force and subsequently resigned. He is set to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on June 19. The alleged offences are said to have occurred off-duty.
