Food inflation in supermarkets dropped to a two-year low of 4.5% in March, down from 5.3% in February, according to analysts Kantar. Despite the decline, nearly a quarter of UK households continue to struggle financially, with 23% reporting difficulty in November and the same proportion in January. In response, 78% of households under pressure are buying cheaper groceries and 68% are using promotions to manage their budgets.
