Trader Joe's raises price of bananas by 20% for the first time in over 20 years, increasing the cost from 19 cents to 23 cents. The grocery store chain states that they only change their prices when costs change, and have now reached a point where the increase is necessary. Despite the price increase, the company maintains that bananas still offer tremendous everyday value.
