During a Commons Committee meeting, Sunak was asked by Conservative MP William Wragg about Truss's remarks, which drew widespread ridicule. When asked if he believes in the "deep state" and if he is part of it, Sunak replied with a joke, saying, "I probably wouldn't tell you if I was, Will!"
