52 new recruits join Cleveland's 155th police academy class, making it the largest in years. This is seven times the size of the previous class, thanks to Mayor Justin Bibb's RISE Initiative, which increased starting pay for cadets, offered $5,000 sign-on bonuses, and raised the age limit for joining the force. With the addition of these recruits, Cleveland aims to reach its goal of 1,350 officers.
