New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) plans to replace an old pine forest in Inglewood with two hectares of native bush through its Planting Our Place program, aiming to increase urban native forest coverage to 10%. The eight-week project will open a tender for restoration and establish a conservation center with Pukerangiora Hapū and East Taranaki Environment Collective. NPDC's Planting Our Places fund offers $30,000 to support native planting projects.
