Malaysia and South Korea have resumed talks on their Malaysia-Korea Free Trade Agreement (MKFTA), aiming to boost bilateral trade and investment. Both countries are already parties to the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement. The MKFTA is expected to cover sectors such as the digital economy, green economy, supply chain, and bio-economy. Malaysia's bilateral trade with South Korea amounted to $24.3 billion in 2023.
