India has launched an investigation into the "dumping" of aluminum foil imports from China, following a complaint filed by domestic manufacturers led by Hindalco. If the dumping is found to have caused material injury to domestic players, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) may recommend the imposition of anti-dumping duties on the imports, aimed at ensuring fair trading practices and creating a level-playing field for domestic producers.
