The FDA is again proposing a ban on electrical stimulation devices used to curb self-injurious or aggressive behavior due to their "unreasonable and substantial risk of illness or injury." The devices deliver electrical shocks through electrodes attached to a person's skin. This is the second time the FDA has proposed such a ban; the previous ban in 2020 was overturned in court.
