A disability support provider, LiveBetter, faces a $1.8M fine over the death of Kyah Lucas, an Indigenous woman who suffered severe burns when poorly-trained carers gave her a bath. LiveBetter, a large NSW and Queensland-based not-for-profit, has admitted 17 violations in a Federal Court hearing. The NDIS commissioner alleges inadequate staff training and risk assessments led to the tragic incident.
