Cranfield University received a £69m funding boost for the largest research project in its history, establishing the Cranfield Hydrogen Integration Incubator (CH2i). This research hub will integrate hydrogen technology into aviation, with a focus on production, materials, storage, aircraft designs, and engines. The project is supported by £23m from Research England's Research Partnership Investment Fund and £46m from industry partners and academic institutions. It aims to inform policies and regulatory practices, supporting economic growth and skills development, and advancing the hydrogen aviation industry.
