Adani Ports acquires 56% stake in Gopalpur Port for Rs 3,080 crore, handling 20 MMTPA.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase a 56% stake in Gopalport Port Limited (GPL) for an enterprise value of Rs 3,080 crore. Gopalpur Port, located on the east coast of India, has a capacity to handle 20 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA). The Odisha government awarded a 30-year concession to GPL in 2006, with the provision of two extensions of 10 years each. The port handles a diverse mix of dry bulk cargo, including iron ore, coal, limestone, ilmenite, and alumina.
