21-year-old Finnish defenseman Joni Jurmo signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames, worth $850,000 annually. Jurmo, acquired from Espoo, Finland in a January 31 trade involving Elias Lindholm, was a third-round pick by Vancouver in 2020. He has previously played in Finland's top division, Liiga, for Ilves and KooKoo and represented Finland in the 2022 world junior men's hockey championship final.
