Laura, whose name has been changed to protect her identity, endured coercive control from her husband in their 20-year relationship. He would threaten, humiliate, and intimidate her, leading to escalating physical violence. After the abuse became too terrifying, Laura fled to her sister's home in April 2023 and now wants the system overhauled to better support survivors of coercive control.
