50-year-absent eastern quolls to be reintroduced to South Coast NSW by Aussie Ark, Parks Australia, and WWF.

After a 50-year absence, the eastern quoll is set to return to South Coast NSW. Aussie Ark, in partnership with Parks Australia and WWF, plans to release 15 captivity-bred eastern quolls, native to Tasmania, to an 80-hectare feral-proof enclosure. Five more animals from Tasmania will join the mainland release. This initiative aims to reestablish the eastern quoll's presence in NSW and is considered "nationally and globally significant" by Aussie Ark's managing director, Tim Faulkner.
