The Vegas Golden Knights promoted goalie Jiri Patera from their AHL affiliate in Henderson to replace injured goalie Adin Hill during a crucial four-game road trip. Coach Bruce Cassidy mentioned that Logan Thompson would be starting Monday's game against the St. Louis Blues, and Patera's addition could extend his playing time. To make room for Patera under the salary cap, the Golden Knights moved Tomas Hertl to long-term injured reserve.
