UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed alarm over allegations that Myanmar's military is bombing civilian areas in Rakhine state, causing displacement and worsening pre-existing vulnerabilities and discrimination. The Arakan Army (AA), which attacked security troops in November, broke a ceasefire. Guterres urges all parties to prevent further incitement of communal tensions and the conflict has spread to neighboring India and Bangladesh.
