UK retail sales rose slightly in March, ending a 10-month decline, but sales are expected to drop again in April, according to the Confederation of British Industry. In March, 2% of retailers reported a rise in sales volume, but a net balance of -25% expects sales to fall in April due to the earlier timing of Easter. CBI Principal Economist Martin Sartorius said the sector's downturn may be bottoming out.
