A helicopter pilot reported a near miss with a drone near Foyle bridge in Derry on 24th March, after the drone was flown at an "illegal and extremely dangerous" altitude of 1,000 feet. Police are investigating the incident and warn about the consequences of drone collisions with manned aircraft. Drone operators should not fly above 400 feet from the ground and avoid Fly Restricted Zones.
