The Taxpayers' Union has criticized Worksafe for rehiring back-office roles it had disestablished in November, claiming that it represents "pseudo-savings" and is a costly process for taxpayers. The Union warned in January that asking Chief Executives to find savings would lead to minimal savings or savings in politically damaging areas rather than the bloated back-office. The Union also suspects a similar process is happening at Te Pukenga.
