South Africa's Minister of Electricity, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, emphasized the need for new generation capacity from renewable sources to ensure future energy security. The government aims to reduce red tape for renewable energy projects, accelerating their implementation to address load-shedding issues. With about 120 projects providing 12,000 MW, the one-stop-shop process will streamline approvals, moving beyond Eskom to achieve energy sovereignty.
