The Queensland government announced a $12.1 million Mossman Region Transition Program to help mill workers find new jobs and support after the liquidation of the 127-year-old Mossman mill. This follows the end of negotiations with a potential investor, who ultimately backed out of a deal to save the mill. The mill's parent company, Daintree Bio Precinct Group, had been in voluntary administration since last November.
