In Peshawar, Pakistan, a married woman and her alleged lover were murdered in an honor killing by the woman's husband and his brothers. Police believe the husband, Wahid Akbar, and his brothers Waseem and Kamal are responsible. Approximately 1,000 women are killed annually in Pakistan for "honor" reasons, often due to marriages against will or extramarital affairs, with family members typically being the perpetrators.
