The Oakland Athletics acquired right-handed pitcher Austin Adams from the New York Mets for cash considerations. Adams, 32, was added to the Athletics' 40-man roster, and right-hander Trevor Gott was placed on the 60-day injured list, who is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the entire 2023 season and part of 2025. Adams had a 5.71 ERA in 24 relief appearances with the Arizona Diamondbacks last season.
