North Korea says Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has expressed his intention to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to state media. Kim Yo-jong, Kim Jong-un's sister and senior official, said that Kishida's intentions were conveyed through another channel. Kim Yo-jong emphasized that the relationship between the two countries would depend on Japan's capacity to make practical political decisions. Japanese Prime Minister Kishida has previously stated his intention to hold talks with Kim Jong-un without preconditions and is personally overseeing efforts to realize the first such leader's summit in 20 years.
