1News political team appoints Maiki Sherman, its first Māori female political editor.

TVNZ has appointed Maiki Sherman as its first Māori female political editor, leading the 1News political team. Sherman, a veteran reporter, has previously worked for Te Karere, Whakaata Māori, and Newshub. She takes over from Jessica Mutch McKay, who now works at ANZ Bank. TVNZ executive editor, Phil O'Sullivan, praised Sherman's calm leadership and strong coverage of political issues.
