Malaysia's bilateral trade with Canada increased by 25% since 2018, largely due to the CPTPP. The Certificate of Origin (CO) uptake by Malaysian businesses for CPTPP partners, including Canada, has contributed to this growth. Malaysia hosted 96 Canadian manufacturing projects worth US$274m, generating 11,027 jobs. Despite a dip in 2023 trade compared to 2022, WTO forecasts a 3.3% merchandise trade growth for 2024.
