7,000 livestock collection agents will be forced to collect a new biosecurity levy starting July 1, despite being "left in the dark" about the implementation. Speaking on behalf of the agents, Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association CEO Peter Baldwin said they are overburdened and unable to agree with the levy, which will also cost them extra hours and resources. Primary producers also do not agree with the levy.
