20 years after her disappearance, a $500,000 reward has been offered for information leading to a conviction in the suspected murder of Kathleen Mary O'Shea, who vanished in 2005 while visiting her son in far north Queensland. O'Shea, 44 at the time, was last seen on December 29, 2005, in Atherton, and a coronial inquest in 2014 found that she likely died soon after her disappearance in the Atherton Tablelands area. Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Devine, who has been the case officer for 18 years, praised O'Shea's daughter, Lily Parmenter, for her relentless efforts in searching for her mother.
