65-year-old Bengaluru woman, Sophia, lost Rs 77,000 after trying to return spoilt milk she had ordered online. When she called the platform's customer care number, a fraudster posing as an executive told her not to return the milk and that she would receive a refund. He then sent a WhatsApp message with a UPI ID number and asked her to transfer money using her UPI PIN, which she did, resulting in the scam.
