18-year-old Riley Heidt, who had a successful season in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Prince George Cougars, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild. Heidt scored 34 goals and 80 assists for 114 points during the 2023-24 season, ranking 19th in goals, 2nd in assists, and 3rd in points leaguewide. The Prince George Cougars currently lead the WHL and CHL standings with 47 wins in the 2023-24 season.
