46 severely injured horses were rescued from a Dallas County, Iowa farm in November 2023. One of the most injured, Rojo, has a new home after a two-week treatment for an infected neck wound. The new owner, who recently lost a horse named Red, felt a connection with Rojo, meaning red in Spanish. Twelve horses have been adopted since the rescue, with five more available.
