Senate Bill 3335, legalizing recreational marijuana in Hawaii, is close to clearing the last committee hearing in the state Legislature, with only one hearing left. The bill would establish a "Hawaii Cannabis and Hemp Authority" within the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, creating a regulatory framework for cannabis product sales after Jan. 1, 2026. Adults 21+ would be allowed to consume cannabis and grow their own.
