2 residents found dead from gunshot wounds in St. Helena Island home, 7th and 8th homicides in Beaufort County this year.
Two residents, David Garder (38) and Christiana Alkire (41), were found dead from gunshot wounds in their St. Helena Island home on Friday. A welfare check had been requested by their family after they hadn't heard from them since Wednesday. The Beaufort County Coroner's Office is conducting autopsies, and it's unclear when the victims were killed. No signs of forced entry or a robbery were found. This marks the seventh and eighth homicides in Beaufort County this year.
