Since last year, Queensland health authorities have seized nearly 5 million illicit cigarettes, 42,000 vapes, and 2.1 tonnes of loose tobacco under new laws targeting illicit tobacco and vaping products. Health Minister Shannon Fentiman states that the combined efforts of state and federal authorities have led to a "zero-tolerance approach to illicit tobacco," with the seizures worth over $6.6 million in addition to multi-agency operations.
