Kerala state government approaches Supreme Court over Governor's unreasoned referral and withholding of state Bills.

Kerala state government has approached the Supreme Court, alleging that Governor Arif Mohammed Khan referred seven Bills passed by the state legislature to the President without providing reasons, and the latter withheld assent to four of them without reasons. The government filed a writ petition under Article 32 of the Constitution, stating that the actions violate Articles 14, 200, and 201. The petition also claims that the Governor's delay in addressing the Bills for up to two years has subverted the functioning of the legislature, making it ineffective.
