3D-printed barracks, largest in Western Hemisphere, to open at Fort Bliss, Texas in 2024.
The U.S. Army is constructing 3D-printed barracks at Fort Bliss, Texas, set to open in Summer 2024. The 5,700 sq ft structure will be the largest 3D-printed building in the Western Hemisphere, housing up to 72 soldiers across 36 bunk beds. The materials used are designed to withstand extreme weather while improving energy efficiency, and the barracks will initially serve as a collective training facility.
