BBC's Gladiators contestant Chung Leung was unable to compete in the final due to an injury sustained during the semi-final. London-based software engineer Chung was replaced by Welsh civil engineer Matt Jones midway through the episode. Leeds admin officer Wesley Male emerged as the winner of the instalment and will face Finlay Anderson, an army officer from Edinburgh, in the 2024 title of the rebooted show.
