Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli's 2022 film RRR has been adapted into a Broadway play in Japan by the 110-year-old Takarazuka company. Rajamouli shared glimpses from the show and thanked the Japanese audience for embracing the play just like the movie. The Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theatre group in Japan, took the initiative to adapt Rajamouli's blockbuster film into a play.
