28-year-old Jeovany Mendez was arrested for a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Florence, Kentucky on July 2, 2023. Mendez, who had fled the scene, was found in the US with family ties to Northern Kentucky. He was charged with reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, and criminal possession of a forged instrument, as well as theft of identity and criminal possession of a forged instrument. His fiancée, Guisela Lopez Gomez, was also arrested and charged with theft of identity and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
